Pedro Irala Tapari is an 8-year-old indigenous boy from the Ava Guaraní people, originally from Santa Rosa del Aguaray in the department of San Pedro, Paraguay. Thanks to the “¡Vamos a la escuela!” (Let’s Go to School!) project—an initiative of the Ministry of Education and Sciences (MEC) in partnership with UNICEF and the Education Above All (EAA) Foundation from Qatar—Pedrito, as he likes to be called, has returned to the classroom and now dreams of becoming a nurse when he grows up.
