Dr. Zehabiya is a gynecologist in Dubti. She sees the damage caused by FGM every day. She performs deinfibulation, a surgical procedure to open severe FGM scars that close the vaginal opening. It helps women live more normal lives and reduces childbirth complications. But her mission goes beyond treatment. Dr. Zehabiya works to prevent this pain before it happens, through health education and community dialogue. As a Muslim woman and a doctor, her voice carries trust and influence within her community.
