UNFPA Ethiopia Youth Champion and Miss World Africa 2025, Hasset Dereje, visited a gender club at Kaliti Secondary School in Addis Ababa — a dedicated, safe space where girls can manage their periods privately and with dignity. For a girl who has nowhere to go when her period comes at school, a space like this is not a small thing. It is the difference between staying in class and going home. This is what a #periodfriendlyworld looks like in practice. And every school deserves one.
