The Nordic Investment Bank (NIB), Citadele bank and the Lithuanian biopharmaceutical company UAB Celltechna signed a ten-year financing agreement of EUR 37 million for a gene therapy product facility in Vilnius. NIB will provide a EUR 22.5 million loan, and Citadele will extend a EUR 14.5 million loan for the project. The new Gene Therapy Centre will be the first and so far the only one of its kind in the Baltic countries. It will provide facilities for both research and manufacturing processes, supporting the development of genetic disease treatments. Spanning approximately 8,000 square metres, the state-of-the-art facility plans to create over 100 new high-value jobs.
