Milena Angelova, Member of the EESC Employers’ Group | Meet the EESC Members
Meet Milena Angelova, member of the EESC Employers’ Group.
Originally from Bulgaria, Milena Angelova has been a member of the European Economic and Social Committee since 2007. Within the Employers’ Group, she contributes to the work of the EESC by bringing the perspective of organised civil society, and especially of businesses, into the European policymaking process.
Over the years, she has worked as rapporteur on around 30 opinions covering a wide range of topics, including competitiveness, economic security, SMEs and innovation, education and skills, health, water, capital markets, corporate governance and sustainable development.
Her work is closely linked to the priorities of her constituency, which includes more than 10,000 Bulgarian enterprises represented through the Bulgarian Industrial Capital Association.
In this episode, she highlights the unique role of the EESC as a space for structured and democratic cooperation between employers, workers and civil society organisations. She underlines the importance of evidence-based policymaking, rooted in reality and close to the needs of both businesses and people.
Through her role, she aims to contribute to making Europe a better place to do business, to work and to live.
