Florian Marin, EESC Quaestor and Workers’ Group Member | Meet the EESC Members
Meet Florian Marin, Quaestor of the European Economic and Social Committee and member of the EESC Workers’ Group.
Originally from Romania, Florian Marin has been a member of the European Economic and Social Committee since 2020. He is part of the National Trade Union Bloc, one of the most important and active trade union confederations in Romania.
Within the EESC Workers’ Group, he has served as Vice-President and now represents the group’s interests in his role as Quaestor of the European Economic and Social Committee.
In this episode, he shares his belief that Europe cannot be built on treaties, regulations and economic indicators alone. For him, Europe is built every day by people, through dialogue, solidarity and the defence of workers’ rights.
He highlights the importance of social dialogue, collective bargaining, reducing inequalities and strengthening the role of trade unions in decision-making. These priorities are central to his work within the EESC and to his vision of a fairer and more united Europe.
Through his role, he aims to defend the dignity of work, strengthen social cohesion and contribute to a European project rooted in citizens’ voices.
