«Derrière chaque déplacement, il y a un visage, une histoire, une dignité à préserver. » Mohamad Khamis, lauréat de la première édition du Prix international remis par la HEAD – Genève et le CICR en partenariat avec l’ALBA, présente son projet « Reconvertir pour accueillir : d’un état délaissé à un lieu humanisé. » L’artiste et architecte imagine la reconversion temporaire du bâtiment emblématique The Egg à Beyrouth, laissé inachevé depuis la guerre, pour en faire un espace inclusif et participatif destiné aux personnes déplacées. Avec son projet qui mêle art, architecture et action humanitaire, Mohamad Khamis imagine une réhabilitation du lieu, pensée pour et avec les habitant·e·s., respectueuse des identités et des dignités. Through this project which brings together art, architecture and humanitarian action, Mohamad Khamis imagines a rehabilitation of the site designed for and with its inhabitants, respectful of identities and dignities.
