Le Musée international de la Croix-Rouge et du Croissant-Rouge présente la première exposition personnelle d'Angélica Serech (*1982, Guatemala) en Europe. Pach’un Q’ijul (Temps entrelacés – Deep time) est un dialogue entre la production récente de l’artiste d’origine Maya Kaqchikel et les collections du Musée. Guidée par une démarche expérimentale et intuitive, Serech construit ses propres métiers à tisser pour relier des gestes ancestraux à son histoire personnelle marquée par la guerre civile guatémaltèque. Ses œuvres rendent hommage à son héritage culturel, tout en explorant la dimension réparatrice de la création artistique. Tissant des liens entre les mémoires individuelle et collective, l’exposition nous invite à nous plonger dans les relations entre textile et action humanitaire. ------------ The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Museum is hosting the first European solo show of Angélica Serech (b. 1982), an artist of Maya Kaqchikel origin born in Guatemala. Entitled Pach’un Q’ijul (Temps entrelacés/Deep Time), it sets up a dialogue between the artist’s recent works and objects from the Museum’s collection. In her experimental and intuitive practice, Serech uses self-built looms to intertwine ancestral techniques with her own history – including her experience of the Guatemalan Civil War. Her works represent both a tribute to her cultural heritage and an exploration of the restorative power of artistic creation.
