The UN Needs Youth, German Diplomat Says
Youth participation is more crucial than ever in reshaping the United Nations as the organization faces immense financial and political pressures for reform and for new ideas. Patricia Patz, the deputy spokesperson of the German Mission to the UN, told PassBlue in this latest episode of our Young Diplomats series that the direct involvement of young people is vital to solving global crises.
“Youth participation is crucial for the work of the United Nations,” Patz said. Germany has integrated the Youth, Peace and Security agenda into the UN Peacebuilding Commission for this purpose, she said.
