South Korea’s Envoy speaks on Gaza, Afghanistan, and Geopolitics at the UN
In a recent interview at the South Korean Mission House in New York, the country’s chargé d’affaires, Sangjin Kim, addressed a wide range of pressing global issues: from Seoul’s review of Palestine’s bid for statehood and the worsening crisis in Gaza, to the Security Council’s handling of Afghanistan and balancing alliances with the United States and China. He also drew a direct link between Russia’s vetoes at the Council and Moscow’s deepening military ties with North Korea amid the war in Ukraine. PassBlue spoke with the ambassador on the “delicacy” of South Korea’s foreign policy choices in an increasingly polarized multilateral world.
