Kenya’s financial sector has taken a step towards greater inclusion with the launch of the Gender-Disaggregated MSME Credit Dashboard, an initiative by the Kenya Bankers Association with support from FSD Kenya. Speaking at the launch event of the dashboard held in Nairobi on Friday, 7th November 2025, FSD Kenya Chief Executive Officer Tamara Cook stressed the importance of closing the gender data gap in MSME finance, reminding stakeholders that women-led enterprises are a vital part of Kenya’s economy, yet they remain underrepresented in formal credit markets.
