On 25th October 2025, private hospitals in Hargeisa signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Health Development, with support from UNICEF, to offer free vaccines for children. Thanks to Gavi, this partnership is strengthening immunization services across facilities that handle thousands of births every year. In just two months, we have already vaccinated 1,400 children, including with the newly introduced PCV and Rotavirus vaccines — a major step toward protecting every child in Somaliland.
