UN Tourism and the International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF) are hosting a Launch Event for the first-ever Global Report on Women in Tourism Transport. Transport is the backbone of the global tourism sector, yet women remain significantly underrepresented, particularly in technical and leadership roles. This study explores the participation of women across air, land and water passenger transport, uncovering the legal, cultural and structural barriers, such as safety concerns and lack of infrastructure, that restrict gender equality.
