Launching at this year’s IISS Shangri-La Dialogue, the Asia-Pacific Regional Security Assessment advances rigorous analysis of the deeper drivers, emerging trends and future trajectories of security challenges and policies in the Asia-Pacific. Commenting on some of the key themes of this year’s edition, the book’s Editor, Dr Evan Laksmana, explains that despite contemporary security challenges, there are key issues around military perception, strategic geography, as well as emerging technology, that represent a much deeper set of structural issues and challenges that provide a broader strategic context as to why and how some of these challenges can be better managed.
