Emerging underwater security challenges, from anti-submarine warfare to threats to critical underwater infrastructure, are exacerbating Asia’s fraught maritime security landscape. Combined with transnational crime, territorial disputes and increasing military build-up, tensions among major powers predominate the regional security environment.
