After sharing his vision of Indo-Pacific security in his remarks to the IISS Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore, United States Secretary of War Pete Hegseth fielded questions from the assembled audience of policymakers, business leaders and opinion shapers in an animated question-and-answer session. A prominent voice in the audience was Japan's Defense Minister Koizumi Shinjirō, who asked Hegseth to provide a message of reassurance to those countries that might have doubts about Washington’s commitment to the region. General Xavier Brunson Commander, United Nations Command, Combined Forces Command and US Forces Korea, also made a notable intervention from the floor.
