Community health workers transform tuberculosis prevention in Sierra Leone
In Sierra Leone, preventing tuberculosis requires more than access to medicines. Stigma, misinformation, distance and daily challenges continue to keep many people from seeking care or completing treatment.
With support from Unitaid and the Aurum Institute, community health workers are helping to break down these barriers. By going directly into communities, they provide counseling, share accurate information and encourage people to access life saving TB prevention and care.
From addressing fear and misconceptions to reaching people in remote areas, their work is making TB prevention more inclusive and accessible for those most at risk.
Watch how community health workers are transforming TB prevention in Sierra Leone one community at a time.
