Tiziana Bonapace is Director of the ICT and Disaster Risk Reduction Division at ESCAP, one of the United Nations’ five regional commissions. An economist by training, she has spent 35 years at the UN and describes her career as a winding and beautiful journey. Since transitioning into ICT and disaster risk reduction in 2010, she has focused on connecting digital innovation to its deep and far-reaching impacts on sustainable development, including expanding connectivity in some of the world’s most disconnected regions.
