The Outbreak Toolkit by the World Health Organization supports epidemiologists and field investigators operating at the frontline of complex emergencies and in resource-limited settings. It supports them in identifying the cause of the outbreak, determining which groups are at risk, and understanding how the event is unfolding over time, place and among affected people. The investigation forms contained in the toolkit allow field investigators to rapidly understand the outbreak and propose initial control measures. The toolkit provides tools for outbreaks of known and unknown cause.
