From Weapons to Tools of Hope: The ASPIRE Journey in Basilan

In Basilan, tools of conflict are being replaced by tools for growth. Through the Assistance for Security, Peace, Integration, and Recovery for Advancing Human Security in BARMM (ASPIRE) Project, supported by the Government of Japan, communities are building peaceful, productive futures through sustainable livelihood support. Over 1,300 small arms and light weapons (SALW) in Basilan were registered and turned over. ASPIRE incentivizes the transition from weapons to livelihoods, turning a history of violence into a future of economic progress.
