🌎 AJL celebrated another exciting milestone on the #CodedBiasWorldTour in Brazil, screening our award-winning film for the first time in South America – and in Brazilian Portuguese to boot! 💬 Reflections from AJL Founder Dr. Joy Buolamwini: The conversation around AI bias is urgent and palpable in Brazil, as policymakers are deciding how to use facial recognition technologies in public places – including at football stadiums. I declined an invitation to a historic football match because it required submitting to facial recognition. I truly enjoyed speaking with scholars and technologists who continue to think deeply about the implications of widespread face surveillance. Our stops in Manaus and Rio were filled with meaningful conversations with local leaders and experts.
