Supporter event: Clean cooking in action

To celebrate International Women’s Day and this year’s theme of ‘Accelerate Action’, you’re invited to join us for a special virtual event on Wednesday 12 March at 1pm focusing on how we are improving cooking conditions for households around the world. Join Leyla Kazim, MasterChef critic, presenter on BBC Radio 4's The Food Programme and Practical Action ambassador, as she hosts a lively event featuring: A demonstration of how to make a traditional Nepalese recipe, cooked on an “improved cookstove”. We’ll share the recipe with you afterwards to recreate at home (on a conventional, Western stove!) A discussion with Purity Ndereba, Project Manager of our cooking work in Kenya. She’ll explain some of the challenges faced by many women in remote communities around the world, and how their health and livelihoods can be transformed with access to cleaner, healthier cooking equipment.
