Since 2022, Practical Action has been working with women and smallholder farmers in the rural districts of Rukum East, Rolpa, and Dang. The project strengthened digital financial literacy and increased access to affordable and appropriate digital financial products (related to savings, payments, remittances, agri-insurance, and credit) to support agricultural value chains and enterprise development activities. The project brought together influential actors—Global IME Bank, IME Pay, Prabhu Management, GeoKrishi, Smart Krishi, Krishi Guru, internet service providers, local cooperatives and local governments to make digital financial services more inclusive and accessible to poor and marginalised women farmers.
