Innovation at the heart of reef restoration 🪸

Drawing on years of local experience, this project combines ocean-based and land-based coral nurseries, adapting techniques to depth, water movement, and storm exposure. ✨A key focus: identifying heat‑tolerant corals (colonies that survived past bleaching events) and giving them the best chance to thrive again. From rope and mid‑water nurseries to land‑based micro‑fragmentation, corals are grown, monitored, and transplanted back onto degraded reefs. Different methods, one shared goal: restoring resilient reefs for the future. Learn how science, innovation, and local leadership are bringing reefs back to life. 🔗 Read the project story: https://www.adaptation-fund.org/restoring-coral-reefs-for-a-changing-climate-in-mauritius-and-seychelles/
