80 Young People Equipped to BoostAgricultural Production in Mali

Thanks to the Soil Values Program, 80 young people have received equipment to launch eight new production units for organic fertilizers and seedlings across the Ségou, San, and Sikasso watersheds. The equipment, including tricycles, wheelbarrows, water tanks, and biochar kilns, will help beneficiaries start and sustain soil amendment production (organic fertilizers) and nursery operations (seedlings). The handover took place on Wednesday, April 8, in Sikasso, Mali, with local authorities attending, including a representative of the Governor of Sikasso, a representative of the Mayor of Sikasso, and the Regional Director of Agriculture for Sikasso, also representing the Regional Directors of San and Ségou. Delivered with partners, including the West Africa Food System Resilience Program (FSRP), the initiative followed an inclusive process from selection through distribution. Follow us for updates as these youth-led units begin production and service delivery. #SoilValuesProgram #SoilHealth #Agriculture #Sahel #Partnerships #FoodSecurity #NetherlandsPrograms
