UNDP's Debris removal programme in Savanna-la-Mar with the people of Cook Street cleared tons of rubbish clogging streets, yards and services. Employing a cash for work modality in partnership with Project Star, the people of Savana-la-Mar receive fair pay for work done. The debris removal programme is part of UNDP's Jamaica Resilient Recovery Initiative, financed by an initial two million USD. Other components include livelihoods recovery, solar energy centres for impacted communities, small home repair support and advice through technical assistance centres and resilient strategic planning for national resilient recovery.
