Africa’s population is booming. The U.S. is still giving it ‘short shrift’.
“It’s just hard for me to imagine that the United States can continue to operate as a major power in the world with interests that span the globe, and give such short shrift to such a massive part of the world’s population,” notes Michelle Gavin, senior fellow for Africa Policy Studies at CFR.
