Every year on 18 December, the world marks International Migrants Day (IMD), first proclaimed by the UN General Assembly in 2000 to recognize the growing number of migrants globally. IMD 2025 is a chance to reaffirm migration as a story of resilience, hope, and shared progress.
This year’s theme, “My Great Story: Cultures and Development,” celebrates how human mobility connects people, enriches cultures, and drives sustainable development. Migration connects people, cultures, and opportunities.
