From Bottle to Bloom: A Story of Recycling, Community Action, and Green Change in Pokhara
Told through the cheerful voice of a recycled plastic bottle turned flower pot, this playful and uplifting video follows a neighborhood discovering the power of responsible waste management. Through the daily lives of Kaka, a young girl, and their community, we see how simple habits—waste segregation at home, composting, and sending recyclables to collection centres—can create lasting impact.
As the flower pot shares its journey from discarded plastic to a beautiful, useful product, the story highlights how recycling and upcycling reduce landfill waste while supporting local green enterprises. It celebrates collective action, showing how families, workers, and community groups together are shaping a cleaner, greener Pokhara.
Supported by KOICA, UNDP, and Pokhara Metropolitan City under the Green Jobs Creation through Recycling and Upcycling (GCRU) Project, the video is a reminder that sustainability begins with everyday choices—and that small actions, when shared by many, can transform a community.
