On March 6, 2026, Fortify Rights and Truth Hounds co-hosted a panel discussion at FCCT in Bangkok that brought together human rights defenders, diplomats, and journalists to discuss how Russia’s war of aggression in Ukraine is affecting countries across South and Southeast Asia. Speakers discussed documented atrocities against civilians in Ukraine, growing ties between Russia and Myanmar’s military junta, and how brokers have deceived and trafficked Bangladeshi men into the Russian military. The discussion also marked the launch of Fortify Rights and Truth Hound’s joint investigative report, “I Was Tricked into the War,” and explored what governments in the region should do to address these impacts and ensure accountability.
