Heifer International Uganda Country Director William Matovu, together with a delegation from the Mastercard Foundation, visited the Busoga region for a monitoring and learning visit to the SAYE (Stimulating Agribusiness for Youth Employment) project—witnessing firsthand the transformative impact of youth-led agribusiness. One moment that truly stood out was meeting 25-year-old Edrine Mukisa from Bugiri. Driven by a vision to improve child nutrition in his community, Edrine launched a nutritious food enterprise just months ago. Today, he’s running a fully operational business. “This is what young people need—access to opportunity, the right information, and a strong support system. It’s not about handouts.
