O - Canada Perspectives 3: Adjusting to Life in Canada

This video, titled Adjusting to Life in Canada, features formerly resettled refugees sharing advice and insights on what they have learned while adjusting to life in Canada, including managing expectations and comparing what they thought Canada would be like before arriving versus the reality. O-Canada Perspectives is a series of five thematic videos featuring the testimonies of formerly resettled refugees speaking on their lived experience resettling to Canada. It includes first-hand accounts from members of the Canadian Orientation Abroad (COA) Refugee Advisory Committee (RAC)/ Comité consultatif sur les réfugiés (CCR) de l'OCE. These committees were formed by COA to engage individuals who represent migrant voices and to elevate the perspectives of formerly resettled refugees, contributing to shaping a COA “by and for” refugees. These committee members provided COA with valuable insights from their lived experiences of resettlement to Canada, with the objective of informing the COA curriculum and future programmatic activities.
