The 2nd TRAJECTS (Transnational Centre for Just Transitions in Energy, Climate, and Sustainability) Global Academy, 'Re-imagining Climate Change Technocratic Responses: Pathways Towards Regenerative Futures,' took place in Cape Town from 6th to 10th October 2025. This five-day (un)learning journey brought together postgraduate students, practitioners, activists, healers, and academics from Africa, Colombia, and Germany for an exchange of knowledge and ideas that goes beyond dominant technocratic responses to climate change. While mainstream approaches emphasise technological fixes to reduce emissions, the Academy foregrounded the deeper structural drivers of climate breakdown and highlighted regenerative, relational, and place-based pathways. Rooted in ecological and cultural pluralism, the programme centred on student-led research and diverse modes of engagement—from workshops, film screenings, and discussion circles to storytelling, movement, art, and embodied practices—to foster fluid, intercultural exchange and collective (un)learning.
