“Strengthening Access to Justice to Prevent Trafficking of Minors in the United States”
Despite robust anti-trafficking frameworks in the United States, thousands of minors continue to be exploited each year. Structural inequalities, systemic discrimination, and barriers to legal protection prevent many survivors from accessing justice.
In conjunction with the 70th Session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women, PACT convened this panel discussion to examine how the United States is addressing the trafficking of minors through multiple perspectives: policy frameworks, judicial responses, survivor experiences, and emerging challenges.
Speakers discuss structural barriers and gaps in legal systems that limit equal access to justice for trafficking survivors, and explore strategies to strengthen legal protections, improve victim identification and support, and build more inclusive and equitable systems.
Featuring:
• Amb. Cindy Dyer, former U.S. Ambassador-at-Large to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons
• Hon. Fernando Camacho, Acting Supreme Court Justice, Suffolk County Supreme Court, NY
• Chantal La-Fon, Member of PACT’s Survivors Council
• Aram Schvey, Senior Director of Policy and Government Relations, PACT
• Lori Cohen, Chief Executive Officer, PACT
