Linking Health and Safety

Violence doesn’t always leave a bruise. It can silence voices, take away choices, control bodies—and deny access to essential health care. Kiran’s story is a reminder that gender-based violence (GBV) and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) are deeply interconnected. From early marriage and unintended pregnancy to limited access to healthcare and enforced silence—her pain was not just physical, it was systemic. But a single visit to a health post began to change that. A doctor listened. A referral was made to a One Stop Crisis Management Centre (OCMC). And slowly, the cycle began to break. This video represents not just one woman—but the experience of many across Nepal. 💡 When health workers recognize signs of violence, doors to support open. 💡 When GBV services are linked with SRHR care, healing begins. 💡 When systems work together, lives are transformed. 📍 For support: 📞 Nepal Police – 100 📞 National Women Commission – 1145 📞 Child Helpline – 1098 📞 Suicide Prevention Helpline – 1166 🏥 Visit the nearest OCMC for integrated services and referrals.
