Bayano's story: Engaging Men and Boys to End Child Marriage | #MovementMakers

“If, as men, we don't act, then we'll have failed generations of young girls.” While working as a journalist, Bayano covered stories such as child trafficking and later became involved in gender work. He slowly realised that the role of men was missing from the conversations around gender inequality. Together with Rede HOPEM, and the Girls Not Brides Partnership in Mozambique, he is working with men and boys to challenge toxic masculinity and to be allies in the fight to end child marriage. 🌟During these 16 Days of Activism, hear and share the stories of Movement Makers — activists and grassroots leaders around the world working together to end child marriage. They are united by a shared vision: a world where girls are free to decide if, when, and whom to marry. #MovementMakers #16DaysOfActivism #EndChildMarriage #mozambique #genderequality 00:00 Introduction 00:29 Child marriage in Mozambique 00:57 About Rede HOPEM 01:19 Engaging boys and men to end child marriage Music: No Time To Remember, Remember The Future (Shutterstock) Check out last year’s inspiring stories from the 2024 #MovementMakers:
