Count | Use | Act: Measuring violence against women
Violence against women is one of the most severe human rights violations — and a critical barrier to achieving SDG 5 on gender equality. Yet in Europe and Central Asia, the lack of robust data on violence against women keeps much of it invisible.
Watch our video to learn how the Joint SDG Fund programme “Empowering Equality” is helping close these gaps — so countries can design stronger policies, allocate resources where they’re most needed, improve services for survivors and take meaningful action to end violence against women.
This video was produced under the regional Joint SDG Fund programme “Empowering Equality: Strengthening Gender Data Systems for Sustainable Development in Europe and Central Asia,” implemented by UN Women, UNFPA and UNDCO.
*The geographical scope covers 18 countries and territories in the region, including Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kosovo1, Kyrgyzstan, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Republic of Moldova, Serbia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Türkiye, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.
