Malaria is preventable. Access to healthcare is part of the solution. | World Malaria Day 2026

World Malaria Day may be over — but the fight against malaria is not. Every year, malaria still kills hundreds of thousands of people, most of them children under five. The tragedy is that malaria is both preventable and treatable. In this video, colleagues from Malaria Consortium share why this work matters, and why reaching families with life-saving healthcare cannot wait. From seasonal malaria chemoprevention and mosquito nets to vaccines, rapid testing and community healthcare, we already have the tools to save lives. In 2025 alone, Malaria Consortium helped deliver life-saving malaria prevention medicines to 23.5 million children. But millions of families living in rural and underserved communities still struggle to access the care they need. That’s why supporting frontline health workers and strengthening community health systems remains at the heart of our work. No child’s chance of survival should depend on where they are born. 🎥 Watch, share, and help keep the momentum going in the fight to end malaria.
