For crores of women, the choice to use a bus is not just about the destination. The decision to ride starts with a simpler question: Do I feel safe? Do I feel comfortable? These everyday moments determine whether public transport is even an option.
The experience is shaped by the people who build the system. With only 1 woman driver for every 625 male drivers in India, the gender imbalance is clear. To build a system that’s inclusive, we need women at the table and behind the wheel. Because when mobility is built for everyone, it works better for all of us.
