Bob Weir of the Grateful Dead talks about Seva Foundation on "Nice People"
Bobby Weir became very involved with Seva Foundation early on. Although he was on the road constantly with The Grateful Dead, he always found time for Seva. Seva had one of its first concerts with The Grateful Dead to raise funds for Seva. This was the beginning of Seva having an information table at literally hundreds of Grateful Dead shows in the subsequent decades. That relationship is described further in this little television clip. This was a recording done for a popular television show in the early 80s called “Nice People” – no kidding, there was a TV show called “Nice People” – and they would feature two or three nice people every week and, this particular week, one of the featured people was Bob Weir talking about Seva. Jahanara Romney (married to Wavy Gravy), who was the executive director of Seva at the time, is also interviewed and expressed her gratitude to Bob’s contributions to Seva. https://seva.org/events
