In Lintao, Gansu, Majiayao painted pottery is not confined to museums; it is also finding its way into everyday life through items such as tea sets and ceramic stoves. This film follows a local pottery practitioner who returned after studying in Jingdezhen, offering a close look at wheel-throwing, trimming, decorative patterning, and cultural product development. It explores the technical challenge behind the saying “seven parts throwing, three parts trimming,” as well as the cultural meanings embedded in Majiayao motifs.
