UNESCO, and Italy conclude the restoration of the Transfiguration Cathedral, after a missile strike

The Transfiguration Cathedral, located in the Historic Centre of Odesa, Ukraine – is now regaining its warmth and purpose after being severely damaged by a Russian missile strike in July 2023.
With support of the Government of Italy, UNESCO has completed emergency repairs, supported the completion of the roof, and restored the heating system, contributing to the long-term resilience of the World Heritage Site and its community.
