UNESCO supports women in uniform in South Sudan to build skills for leadership and peacebuilding

Hear from women in the security sector in Aweil, Northern Bahr el Ghazal State, who are building their literacy, numeracy and ICT skills through UNESCO-supported lessons. The project addresses some of the major barriers women face in the workplace, supporting their leadership in institutions, and contributing to more inclusive peacebuilding, in line with the Women, Peace and Security agenda. Supported by the UN Peacebuilding Fund, the initiative spans Northern Bahr el Ghazal, Central Equatoria and Upper Nile States. More than 500 women are currently enrolled in the lessons.
