Stop SpaceX's Land Grab

Stop SpaceX's Land Grab

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service wants to transfer 715 acres of the Lower Rio Grande Valley National Wildlife Refuge to SpaceX. This refuge provides critical habitat for endangered ocelots, rare migratory birds, and other wildlife. It's one of the last remaining expanses of public land in south Texas. SpaceX is owned by the world's richest man. But no corporation has a right to take public lands that endangered species rely on for survival. And SpaceX's operations are already harming nearby wildlife habitat. Failed rocket launches have scattered metal debris across refuge lands, and a 2024 study found damage to every monitored shorebird nest after a single launch. That's why the Center for Biological Diversity is suing to stop this harmful land transfer and protect the wildlife of the Lower Rio Grande Valley.
