How We're Promoting Peace in D.R. Congo

In eastern D.R. Congo, peace doesn’t start in courtrooms, it starts in villages. For more than a decade, RET and its partners have supported Village Peace Committees (CVPs) to help communities resolve conflicts before they turn violent. Made up of women leaders, ex-combatants, youth, Batwa representatives, and people with disabilities, CVPs reflect the communities they serve. With the right tools and training, these local committees have already helped resolve hundreds of disputes, rebuild trust between ethnic groups, and restore dialogue where fear once ruled. Because lasting peace isn’t imposed. It’s built, together. Want to join our mission?
