CARE turns 80!

CARE turns 80!

In 1945, a group of like-minded people sprang into action as millions faced poverty after World War II. That year, CARE was born, bearing one key goal: to stand side by side with those facing poverty and suffering. 80 years later, we've grown into a global organisation, working with partners and communities in over 120 countries to fight poverty and inequality. During this time, CARE and our partners have supported people through some of the world's most difficult moments. From the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami to the war in Syria. From the 1980s hunger crisis in Ethiopia to the COVID-19 pandemic. Today, we face old and new challenges. Conflicts and hunger are rising again, climate change is worsening, and global aid cuts are hindering our work. But one thing remains the same: our commitment to help. To do whatever we can to reduce suffering. Today, and for the next 80 years. #CAREturns80
