ActionAid Australia hosted Justice for Palestine in Melbourne on 14 May 2026, where we joined in conversation with Jamil Sawalmeh (ActionAid Palestine Country Director), Noura Mansour (Democracy in Colour) and Sarah Baarini. This event brought to light the current situation for everyday people in Palestine, particularly in Gaza amidst Israel's ongoing attacks and humanitarian aid blockages. We heard about Jamil's personal experiences as someone living and working in the West Bank, of Israel's settler violence, and restrictions on movement. The discussion highlighted what we can do in Australia to continue to show support and take action for the Palestinian people who continue to face Israel's ongoing attacks.
