Artivism, Memory, and Peace: Venezuelan Artist Daniel Arzola for the WPHF #PeaceIs Campaign
When we invited Venezuelan artivist Daniel Arzola to contribute to the #PeaceIs campaign, his first thought was a difficult one:
“How do you illustrate peace when it feels like there is none left in the world?”
Yet it is precisely in moments like these that hope must be protected — and memory preserved. For Daniel, art becomes that act of resistance: a way to preserve memory, to share the most intimate struggles, to celebrate resilience, and to tell the stories that refuse to be erased.
The result is a powerful print inspired by the women of Isabel Allende’s novels — survivors who endure, remember, and speak even in the darkest times — and by the resilience of Palestinian women, whose stories of survival and strength continue to be told.
