[Post-SMM Webinar] Turning outcomes into results: What Countries and Partners Can Do Now - Session 2

On 11 December, Sanitation and Water for All (SWA) convened two Post–Sector Ministers’ Meeting (SMM) Webinars bringing together around 138 participants from government institutions, development partners, civil society, regulators, academia, utilities, and the private sector. The webinars focused on how countries and partners can translate the political momentum generated at the SMM in Madrid into concrete, time-bound actions at regional, national and institutional levels. Discussions centered on practical early steps, mechanisms for alignment, and ways to strengthen policies, budgets, and implementation pathways. Participants explored: - Key outcomes of the SMM, including expectations around the High-Level Leaders’ Compact and proposed country-level follow-up - Examples of early action from various governments and partners to inspire cross-learning - Approaches to reinforcing mutual accountability across the SWA partnership to sustain collective action This session in English, French, Spanish, Portuguese brought together panelists from the Government of Spain, Brazil, Panama, Nigeria, civil society, development banks, regulators, private sector and research organizations.
