Investing in the Hindu Kush Himalaya requires more than just capital – it requires clarity, cohesion, and collaboration. Stakeholders from governments, private sector, and financing institutions need a common language, and shared aspiration to achieve a common goal in ensuring investments and funding are in place to achieve a resilient HKH region. ICIMOD’s convening work facilitated the development of one ecosystem for leveraging investments for its eight regional member countries. The Hindu Kush Himalaya Investment Conference 2026 shored up many promising next steps and built traction among stakeholders. More than 100 representatives from 80 different organisations agreed to bridge the gap between policy, finance and climate action. From co-designing ecosystem-based solutions to scaling climate finance, we are building the traction needed to protect and finance the vital third pole and address pressing problems in the HKH.
